Grisly discovery: Homicide section alerted to fisherman’s find

A fisherman in Oshawa done a gruesome find Monday night — a torso of a woman.

Durham Regional Police carnage cops are questioning after a find was done around 8:30 p.m. nearby Oshawa Harbour in a Simcoe St. S. and Harbour Rd. area.

A rough hearing by a coroner’s bureau identified signs of mishap on a body. A autopsy hearing was scheduled for Tuesday during a Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.

The Public Safety Unit and a DRPS Marine Unit will be canvassing the area along with a Homicide Unit looking for evidence.

Anyone with new information is asked to call Det. Short (ext. 5407) of a DRPS Homicide Unit during 1-888-579-1520.
