The Washington Wizards have matched a Brooklyn Nets’ four-year, $106 million US offer piece to keep brazen Otto Porter.
General manager Ernie Grunfeld announced a pierce Thursday. Under NBA rules, a Wizards had dual days to compare Brooklyn’s offer piece for a 24-year-old limited giveaway agent.
Porter becomes Washington’s highest-paid actor for a time being, forward of guards Bradley Beal and John Wall. He set career highs with 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals and sharpened and 3-point percentages of .516 and .434 final season, his fourth as a professional.
The Wizards drafted Porter third altogether in 2013 out of Georgetown. Grunfeld pronounced Porter, who has averaged 9.3 points a diversion in his career, has grown into a critical partial of a team’s immature core.
